Back to school

No Comments Jeremy, JR, Owen

Thank heavens for school to start.  I think it’s bitter sweet for most of us, but more sweet than bitter for me.  I love having kids at home, but it is so nice to get them out for a little while.  It makes me sad that they are growing up so quick.  I know things change when they get older, and I want to keep having fun with them while they are small.  For today, I am going to relish the quiet time I have (semi quiet, Owen is still at home on mon, wed, friday’s, and he is not to bad when he is by himself)  Here is a little footage from dropping the older boyz off at the school.  Raymond loves being on video, JR get embarassed.  music by BNL  ”Eraser”

Spot Recognition at George Fox University

No Comments Blog Roll
I am taking a couple of classes this semester, little higher work load than I am used to. I am on the accelerated adult degree program, and My major is in Management, Leadership, and Organizational Behavior. I have really enjoyed my experience so far with George Fox, and I look forward to Graduating in the spring of 2011. I am currently taking a World Math (code for bone head math) and I am learning a lot. I have always been pretty good with numbers, but My teacher, a 29-30 year Old Russian Gal, that moved to America 6.5 years ago with her Husband. She just got down with her Doctorate program, she also came up with this program that uses a special algorithm that can do spot recognition with animals. Used mostly with animals and reptiles that have spots such sat frogs, leopards, etc. It was fascinating hearing about it from her, she is a very smart Person, and I have learned a lot from her even with her strong Russian dialect. My Research and statistics class has been very fascination too, but I won’t go into that. That will put you to sleep (as if your not already bored to tears) Thanks to all those people that have supported me (family, friends), and helped me through the past couple of hard years, and Especially my wife who always believes in me when I lose faith in myself. Love you Rachael!

George Fox University and Tinker Toys

No Comments The Boyz
I took a two hour assessment class at George Fox University to see if I wanted to joint their program.  One of the activities was to erect a tower with Tinker toys, while collaborating  with your assigned group (cohort).  We had 20 minutes of planning, then 4 minutes to build.  We had a good time, lots of fun.  We lost by 4 inches, even though our tower was engineered so much better than the other group, we still lost.  The objective was to make sure that it stood for over 1 min after the 4 minutes was up, and whomever had the tallest tower won.  The other team just started putting tinker toys on top of each other until their’s was higher.  We still had fun, and we learned a lot.  We went for the cork screw design so the weight of the tower would counter balance while equally applying pressure to hold the tower together.
