Back to school

Thank heavens for school to start. I think it’s bitter sweet for most of us, but more sweet than bitter for me. I love having kids at home, but it is so nice to get them out for a little while. It makes me sad that they are growing up so quick. I know things change when they get older, and I want to keep having fun with them while they are small. For today, I am going to relish the quiet time I have (semi quiet, Owen is still at home on mon, wed, friday’s, and he is not to bad when he is by himself) Here is a little footage from dropping the older boyz off at the school. Get mad and punch guys in football

JR had his first game at the optimist youth football fields Saturday morning at 8:30am. He was excited, and ready for some hitting. The other team demolished them, and it wasn’t even close. Every time JR got the ball, he was immediately tackled by the other team. He did break a few runs for for a couple of yards and almost a first down, but his team did not even get a first down. We broke down the footage, and there wasn’t anybody blocking. JR had a tone of tackles on defense (he is number 12 same number as me when I was in little league football) and he hurt his knee in the last few minutes of the game. It was a good experience for the kids, and it let them know that they have lots to work on. It will be an interesting practice this week. He still had fun, even thought they got their buts kicked.

Some of the art needs interpretation, but you get the drift from most of it. From watching super hero movies and playing video games you can imagine where he gets his inspiration. There is a few that surprise me, and I have to questions him. Iron Mam, Spiderman, Hulk, Indiana Jones, Halo, and much more.

The Boyz chasing Smoke with KTVB

We saw a huge smoke plume, so the boys wanted to investigate what was going on. The roads were blocked so gawkers couldn’t get in, so we took the back route to see if we could get close. We found a dirt road of the beaten path and got right on top to see what was going on. We were looking for blown up houses with massive devastation and we were let down with farmers burning stubble next to the dairy (glad that nobody was hurt, or lost their house). It was fun to get out of the house with the boys, they had fun. As we were leaving, KTVB video guy was setting up his video stuff to get the same shot as us. It was cool that we got there before him.

Bone Crushers on the Blue

JR had his first little Scrimmage in pads on the Boise State Blue this past weekend. He was suffering from a terrible bug for the last 2 days. I told him that he should just get pictures and not play.. but he played anyway. He wasn’t himself but he said that he couldn’t give up the chance to play on the blue field. His team did a lot better than expected, but still lots to work on. I used some NFL films audio for the effects.. take a look for yourself.

Two for One

Hi everybody, some of you know that little JR is in Optimist football this year and it’s his first year in pads. He is so excited, and is doing very well. Optimist football has a fundraiser every year, and it’s the “Two for One” card that some of you have seen in the past. It’s funny because not all the deals are two for one.. but I guess they started out that way.

The money raised from this project will be used to offset the expenses such as field maintenance, uniforms, and equipment, training, referees, etc! Every participant should sell 20 cards. Please help JR get is goal today.

Lightning and the Marriage of Figaro

When I took those photos of the lightning storm the other night, I also had my video cam running. I condensed 20 minutes of lightning footage into a 2 minute video. I slowed the footage way down so you could see the bolts hit the earth. I also dubbed in some thunder claps for effect and to top it off, I added in a little Mozart, The Marriage of Figaro – Overture. Enjoy!
