Sam shredding it up on lake Cascade in Donnelly Idaho over the 4th of July weekend

Ok, she wasn’t really there but I called her to get permission to use her song… ah, um.. ok not really. The firework show is from out neighbors two docks down.  They always spend the big bucks for some sweet pyrotechnic action every year.  I have made two other videos from years previous.  Some of us are sick of this song (Firework by Katy Perry), but I thought I would give it one last go because of the lyrics.

Tag shredding up the lake

This is a short video I made for my nephew Sam Robison for his eagle project.  His project was clearing the large timber off that scary steep mountain, and then making some benches out of them.  The project location was in Pinetop recreation area owned by the LDS church up in Idaho City.  The younger helpers helped clear the small stuff, while the older guys acted like lumberjacks.  The logs were taken off the mountain, and then sent down to the little sawmill we set up.  They were cut,  assembled and then  moved over to the area designated.  It was a fun project with a lot of hard work.  Sam did a great job orchestrating his project.  I hope my goys will follow his example and get their eagle projects when they are ready even though their old man was a slacker.  Great Job Sam!

I put my D7000 on a tripod last night trying to capture the red skies to the west. After I was finished taking some photos, I started seeing some crazy lighting. I took my camera and changed it over to movie mode and let it run while nature put on a show. It was an amazing storm!. I had to go inside when some giant rain drops came down. Music is by Live “Lightning Crashes”

When I took those photos of the lightning storm the other night, I also had my video cam running.  I condensed 20 minutes of lightning footage into a 2 minute video.  I slowed the footage way down so you could see the bolts hit the earth.  I also dubbed in some thunder claps for effect and to top it off, I added in a little Mozart, The Marriage of Figaro – Overture.  Enjoy!
